Sustainability at Forja WORKS Crafting a Greener Tomorrow
At Forja, sustainability is not just a goal; it is a journey towards a greener, more responsible future. Join us as we forge ahead, weaving environmental consciousness into every aspect of our business.
Our dedication to sustainability is reflected in our conscientious use of materials.
We strive to minimize waste by employing reclaimed materials in our projects, offering innovative solutions to repurpose and breathe new life into what was once considered waste. Advanced machinery, and efficient processes, we have successfully reduced waste, ensuring that materials are used multiple times, contributing to a circular economy.
In the year 2023 alone, Forja proudly diverted over 2000 kg of materials from other companies that would have otherwise ended up as waste. These materials were repurposed for various projects, embodying our commitment to sustainable practices. Looking ahead to 2024, our focus intensifies on encouraging our customers to embrace sustainability. We are determined to promote the use of recycled materials, emphasize the importance of reusing resources, and advocate for refurbishing items whenever possible. Our proactive steps include the integration of solar panels and electric vehicles into our operations, aligning with our commitment to clean energy and reducing our carbon footprint.
In our pursuit of transparency, we began tracking emissions in 2023. Setting ambitious goals for the coming years, we aim to continually reduce our environmental impact and strive for excellence in sustainable business practices. Furthermore, we take pride in sourcing responsibly, with 90% of the wood used in our projects certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This ensures that our wood comes from responsibly managed forests, contributing to the preservation of ecosystems and biodiversity.
Canal Cleaning in Portobello
FORJA WORKS contributed significantly to the canal cleaning in Portobello. The event had a fantastic atmosphere, and a substantial amount of waste was removed from the canal. The plan is to make this a monthly event. Future clean-ups will feature more stickers, bags, and gloves, and a big lunch will be organized for all participants.
